The persistent issue of Sargassum seaweed continues to affect several coastal areas across the island, with Vieux Fort, and the Castries Harbour among the hardest hit. The Chamber has received reports of businesses—particularly in the south—being forced to suspend operations due to the overwhelming odour caused by the rotting seaweed.
In response, the St. Lucia Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a 90-minute webinar on Friday, May 9th at 11:00 a.m., to bring together affected businesses and stakeholders for a frank and solution-oriented discussion.

While government agencies continue to work on alleviating the problem and will share some of their activities with us, this session is meant to foster private sector solidarity and collaboration through the exchange of ideas and best practices.
