UPDATE: NEW TIME

The Department of Infrastructure, Ports, and Transport, through its Energy and Public Utilities Division, invites you to a crucial Sensitization Session on Friday, September 20th, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. The session will take place at the department's conference room, Union.

The department is in the final stages of developing new legislation and regulations for the electricity sector, a critical step in ensuring the continued reliability, fairness, and transparency of the industry. This sensitization session is part of a series of engagements designed to present the draft legislation and seek feedback from key stakeholders, including members of the Chamber.

The draft legislation will address the rights and responsibilities of consumers, operators, and the regulator. Key areas to be covered include:

  • Billing accuracy
  • Service quality
  • Dispute resolution mechanisms

Additionally, the regulations will address significant concerns such as:

  • Market entry criteria
  • Pricing transparency
  • Prevention of anti-competitive pricing

Your feedback and insights are invaluable in shaping the future of the electricity sector.

We look forward to your participation in this important discussion.
