As part of the St. Lucia Chamber of Commerce efforts at building the resilience of its members through an effective Disaster Risk Reduction program, the Chamber is pleased to present for the first time a training program aimed at building the capacity of the business community to support their staff who are impacted by crises. The training program will seek to empower Attendees to be better able to manage workers access to psychosocial support and serve as, for want of a better term, first respondents in this regard.

By building the capacity of companies and civil society organizations to support St. Lucians, particularly workers, with initial help and guidance to accessing appropriate support mechanisms, we are of the view that this will help build the resilience of the business community.  Provision of critical and timely psychosocial support to workers has been shown to positively impact their moral and mental wellbeing, which in turn, leads to improved job performance.

Your Agency is recognized as an extremely proactive and effective partner in disaster recovery and support and as such, we believe that, your team members are well placed to benefit and employ the valuable skills that the program will impart. For that reason, we wish to invite your participation.

Working with the Dominica Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the Martinique Chamber of Commerce utilizing the services of SOS Kris, a firm from Martinique, specialized in this aspect of human resource development this, Training Workshop is being hosted by the St. Lucia Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture.
